Some knowledge and introduction of DCLS screw conveyor

Screw conveyor is commonly known as Auger, it is widely used conveyor equipment. Compared with other conveyor equipments, it has the advantages of small size, good sealing, stable and reliable operation, many discharge loads and unloads, safe operation and easy maintenance.


DCLS screw conveyor is designed for transporting mud cuttings, providing an effective and low-cost drilling cuttings transport system for offshore and onshore drilling rigs. The fights of screw conveyor adopt wear-resistance materials, screw diameter from 250mm to 500mm, the length from 4 meters to tens of meters, 0.5 meters every gear, according to transport the materials characteristics to choose a shaft or shaftless screw conveyor.

How does the screw conveyor operate in drilling system

The screw conveyor is generally composed of three parts: the main body of the conveyor, feed and discharge port and driving device; the helical baldes of the screw conveyor has three forms of entity spiral surface, belt type screw surface and blade spiral surface. The blade spiral surface application is relatively less among them, it is mianly for conveying larger viscosity and compressible materials. In the process of completing conveying, this type of spiral surface has the functions of stirring and mixing materials at the same time.


When the screw shaft rotate, due to the gravity of the material and the friction it caused with the tank wall, make the materials can only move forward along the bottom of the screw conveyor under the pushing of blades, the situation seems the nut that can not rotate do the tanslational motion along the rotating screw. Movement of materials in the middle bearing relys on the trust of the go-ahead materials on the back.

Therefore, the transport of materials is a slip movement. In order to make the helical axis in a more favorable tension state, the driving device and the unloading port are generally placed at the same end of the conveyor, and the the feeding port is located near the end of the other end. The materals will be transported by the rotating blades so that the force that materials not rotate with the screw conveyor blade is the material itself weight and the friction resistance of the screw conveyor casing to the materials. The screw axis of the screw conveyor has the footstep bearing in the direction of material movement to make the axial reaction force with the materials. When the cscrew conveyor is too long, the middle suspension bearing should be added.
