The DC Mud Cleaner is the second stage and the third stage of the solids control equipment. It is a combination of a desander, desilter and underflow shaker shaker.
Compared with the more traditional separate versions of having a desander and desilter, the mud cleaner delivers a higher level of cleaning function.



Mud cleaners consist of a desilter mounted over a fine mesh screen of 150 or 240 mesh. The desilter underflow is treated mechanically by the fine 150-240 mesh screen which allows the liquid phase and any barites present to pass back into the circulating tank while the drilled solids above 75 microns (for 200 mesh screen) are removed.

Mud shale shaker used for HDD project

DC supply HDD shale shaker to match HDD drill rig and mud pump for drilling cuttings separation. HDD shale shaker is slightly different design with oilfield shaker because of mud conditions and transport difference.



Usually the HDD shaker use 3 decks shaker mostly for 500GPM or higher mud flow capacity because of shorter deck will allow shaker stay on shaker tank while inland transport without disassemble. But oilfield shaker normally use 3 decks or 4 decks shale shaker with buffer box back design to allow mud over flow to reduce mud speed but longer shaker decks which will be disassemble while inland transport.



The basic design consists of large, flat sheets of wire mesh screens or sieves of various mesh sizes that shale shakes or vibrates the drill cuttings, commonly shale shaker, across and off of the screens as the drilling fluid flows through them and back into the drilling fluids processing system, often called a mud system.

In today, the amount of R&D aimed at HDD drilling fluids is considered a rounding error in the oligopoly of drilling fluid manufacturers. However, the trends strongly suggest that the future of HDD drilling will follow a similar evolution as experienced by the traditional oil and gas industry.

The mud system is engineer designed to clean, recycle and mixing drilling mud in one mud tank package. The flow capacity is 250gpm + with shaker operating at 40 mesh screens and mud density 1.2g/cm3. It removes undesired drilled cuttings down to 12 microns with 4″ desilter cones. Compact design and small foot print allows it to be easily moved and transported .
