With our in-house engineering and design capabilities, DC Solid control can integrate any number of hydrocyclone arrangements with any of our shakers. In all cases, DC Solid control’s hydrocyclones come with polyurethane bodies, where erosion resistant inserts are available. Standard hydrocyclone cone sizes available include 4”, 5”, 10”, and 12” and can be provided in arrangements of one to 20 cones.

The first step in using a mud cleaner is to send the mud through a hydrocyclone, because it would be too thick for the cleaner to effectively work with. A hydrocyclone is a device that uses force to push purified mud through the top of the cyclone as thicker particles pass through the bottom section. Anything that goes through the bottom section then meets the mud cleaner.

Usually the cone diameter is more than 6″is called Desander, and used as the second-control equipment in drilling operation. We commonly used 8 “and 10” cones desander to separate solid-phase particle size 47-76μm in the drilling fluids.

Desilter is the third class solids control equipment to treat the drilling fluids. According to the size of the cone diameter, they are divided into Desander and Desilter. Usually the cone diameter is less than 6″is called Desilter, and used as the third-control equipment in drilling operation. We commonly used 5 “and 4” cone to separate solid-phase particle size 15-47μm in the drilling fluid.

Hydrocyclones are preferred units for sizing or desliming large slurry volumes cheaply and because they occupy very little flor space or headroom. They operate most effectively when fed at an even flow rate and pulp density and are used individually or in clusters to obatin desired total capacities at required splits.
